Chapter Twenty Seven: The Twelve Thoughts

New World of America Know All Men By These Presents Directly From the White House Press Secretary The Twelve Unforgivable Thoughts -o0o- #1 Beauty and ingenuity beat perfection hands down, every time. Nalo Hopkinson, Sister Mine #2 Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing else to take away. Antoine de Saint- Exupéry, Airman's Oddesey #3 The unqualified truth is, that when I loved Estella with the love of a man, I loved her simply because I have found her irresistible. Once for all; I knew to my sorrow, often and often, if not always, that I loved her against reason, against promise, against peace, against hope, against happiness, against all discouragement that could be. Once for all; I love her none the less because I knew it, and it had no more influence in restraining me, than if I had devoutly believed her to be human perfection. Charles Dickens, Great Expections #4 Perfection of character is this: to live each day as if it were y...

Chapter Twenty Six: The Throne of the Fictional World

Power not only entices, but fully corrupts. Humanity has been deceived to explore its fullest extent, attempting to absolutely define the sphere that encompasses its inherent meaning. All the things created, either proposed, discovered, or simply revealed by nature, attain its working definition by function or utility, which results to knowledge that needs to be accepted and verified from its theoretical constructs by the curious nature of the scientific mind. The method to a certain madness do exist in a philosophical context that satisfies the requirements of knowledge, which later on aids in the further development of the subject matter covered by the natural sciences. A simple idea can result to a revolution or create a new movement that aims to further understand the world, to improve processes of work that involves time and space, understand the chemical reactions that are happening within organic or inorganic matter, or effectively tell stories in new ways of expressing creative...

Chapter Twenty Five: Waterbred Dragons

So comes snow after fire, and even dragons have their endings. J.R.R. Tolkien, The Hobbit They were actually dragons, the creatures in question. But not exactly the dragons we are accustomed to believe. The human faculty's propensity to build detailed descriptions of characters in fantasy in its limited pursuit has made creativity, as applied to language fluency, and a well-developed imagination sums up the drastic failure for the author to fully connect with these mythical creatures, known to many (and in most other dimensions) as the Waterbred Dragons. These are the unique species of the same dragons capable of spitting fire, and of the same family and genus, too. Although they just started to inhabit the waters for a few centuries ago where they learned to gradually evolve from the unfriendly habitat through natural selection, their characteristics and capabilities have changed quite significantly from their flying cousins. In fact, these gradual changes that made significant al...

Chapter Twenty Four: Noise

There was a loud noise coming from outside the Peaceful Enclosures. According to the instructions of the Scientists from Genesis Technology, this may be a form of provocation that can lead to aggression, whatever it is that the said creatures are truly capable of harming them. So, they have decided to halt all probing activities that may cause peril in the rescue mission at this juncture, and instead focused their efforts in understanding the noises that they were hearing for three days now. The noises are very peculiar, quite scary at times, but they are most certain that it is coming from some sort of animal. It is very similar to the call of a whale in a vast ocean. Nevertheless, the team from Genesis Technology is due to send a set of cryptic instructions in their email addresses, presumably avoiding any key words that may be detected by the filter or the algorithm that may eventually activate the artificial intelligence that is very capable of destroying the Peaceful Enclosures th...

Chapter Twenty Three: The Politics of Greed

The Seven Social Sins are: Wealth without work. Pleasure without conscience. Knowledge without character. Commerce without morality. Science without humanity. Worship without sacrifice. Politics without principle. From a sermon given by Frederick Lewis Donaldson in Westminster Abbey, London on March 20, 1925. Frederick Lewis Donaldson Loyalty to country ALWAYS. Loyalty to government, when it deserves it. Mark Twain xxx The way things unfold is a matter of self-devotion. To see, to believe, to question the never-ending sorrows; not deserved, no, definitely a travesty of sorts. An experienced way to handle things, or to see the endless possibilities. A politics of opportunity drenched in the thirst for blood. Thou shall not kill, but defense is a pride. To fall into the trap of the said deadly sins; quickly, an insufficient justification of the learnings. A response to the many stimulus of life. The human condition trapped into the many sorrows of hollowed dreams. A fantasy of deluded mu...
